12 Sidra employees complete the “Patient Care Managers” Training Program at CCQ

In the framework of the strategic partnership between the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) and Sidra Medicine (Sidra), CCQ has announced that 12 Qatari employees at Sidra have successfully completed the “Patient Care Managers” Training Program, which lasted for a month and comprised a number of topics in pathology, effective communication in the healthcare sector, as well as creative problem-solving and crisis management.

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Abdallah Hazaimeh, Dean of the Community College of Qatar said:
“This program is part of the fruition of our partnership with Sidra Medicine, which aims to develop Qatari employees and improve their skills in the healthcare domain in Qatar.”

For her part, Ms. Zamzam Al Hammadi, Patient Care Officer at Sidra’s Children's Emergency Department and a trainee in the program, said she benefited greatly from the training program. She added:

“The training program was divided into two parts, the first was about how to deal with patients, and the second focused on common medical terminology in the area of Children's Emergency. I learned many things from the training program, including creative problem-solving, dealing with patients and their families in critical and death situations, and how to convince the patient in the case of transfer to another hospital.”

In August 2017, CCQ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sidra that includes a training program on management skills in the healthcare sector designed to qualify trainees for employment at Sidra. The program includes courses in office work, medical management, healthcare terminology, health information management systems, and administrative computer applications.
