CCQ holds its annual Students’ Sponsors Meeting for 2019-2020

At its recently held 2019-2020 Students’ Sponsors Meeting, the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) hosted the representatives of 15 prominent organizations, the Amiri Diwan, the Qatar Armed Forces, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Hamad Medical Corporation, Primary Health Care Corporation, the General Authority of Customs, the General Tax Authority, Qatar Petrochemical Company, Qatar Fertiliser Company, Qatar Petroleum, Dolphin Energy Limited, Commercial Bank, and Aspire Zone.

CCQ’s annual event serves as a platform to work closely with state institutions, sponsorship partners, and major stakeholders in the labor market to further align its career-oriented academic offerings with Qatar’s strategic objectives, explore new program development opportunities, and ensure a fruitful educational and professional journey for its sponsored students.

In his comments on the occasion, CCQ President Dr. Mohamed Al-Naemi underscored the importance of the annual meeting in discovering more ways to enrich the on-campus experience of partner institutions’ sponsored students and enhance their skill-sets to become indispensable assets at their workplace, as well as adding value to their organizations upon graduating. He elaborated:

“One of the things that set CCQ apart from other higher education institutions in Qatar is our proximity to the labor market, whether through a flexible 2+2 certification framework, skill-based practical training and internships, or a flexible, all-day schedule. However, this unique approach to college education can only have its desired impact, when we develop our programs and deliver our processes in absolute harmony with the State’s objectives.”

He added: “Considering that the Qatar National Vision 2030 is adopted - and, in many cases, set in motion - by national institutions and eminent private organizations in critical sectors, many of which are CCQ’s sponsorship partners, our annual Students’ Sponsors Meeting is an excellent opportunity to push forward this agenda and breathe new life into the labor market, while bolstering the role CCQ plays in the national education landscape.”

During the meeting, CCQ’s sponsorship partners were given detailed presentations on the diverse range of academic programs and specializations available at the College, and how they have been designed to meet the evolving needs of the national labor market. The College’s Student Affairs Division also presented the sponsoring institutions’ representatives with an overview of CCQ’s admission requirements, registration procedures, and the services offered to their sponsored students.

As part of the event, the College’s President, Vice President Dr. Khalid Al-Abdulqader, and Deans of the various academic divisions held an open discussion with the sponsorship partners, where they talked through the needs of sponsored students, reviewed the institutions’ objectives, and identified ways to jointly develop and improve processes in the interests of all parties concerned.
