The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) recently organized the Academic Advising Orientation Day, a two-day event at the College’s Lusail Campus, with the aim of providing students with a wide variety of academic advising services. The event saw a huge turnout from students, as CCQ academic advising experts were present to receive their questions and address their inquiries. At the event, students availed themselves of several academic advising services and were introduced to, among other things, the CCQ available programs and admission requirements, transfer requirements to Qatar University, study plans, and the distribution of the courses on academic semesters, as well as how to know their academic advisors.

Ms. Maryam Alemadi, head of Advising Section at the CCQ, affirmed that the purpose behind the event is raising awareness among students about the importance of keeping in touch with their academic advisors and being aware of the educational policies and regulations of the College. She stressed that this will help them complete the educational process and overcome the challenges that might encounter them easily during their years of study. Further, Alemadi highlighted that the event aimed at assisting students in figuring out the academic fields that best suit their abilities and personal inclinations.

For his part, Mr. Ghaith Al-Ajami, academic advising expert at CCQ, said that the event proved effective in providing students with various academic advising services and addressing their inquiries, adding that the event attracted large numbers of students who welcomed and praised the initiative.
