The Student Affairs Expert provides leadership in student affairs planning, student operational support, student recruitment, development and retention. S/he promotes and encourages the understanding of cultural and human diversity in the College faculty, staff and students.
In particular, the applicant is expected to:
· Ensure that Student Affairs division activities are aligned with the College strategic plan and achievement of the College mission and goals;
· Serve on required standing and ad hoc committees;
· Prepare and present required reports and updates;
· Propose, justify and monitor Student Services budget;
· Monitor student records;
· Lead enrollment services, including registration and student orientation, in accordance with admissions policies and procedures;
· Evaluate (together with Deans of Academic Divisions) student transcripts for transfer of credits;
· Ensure maintenance of student confidentiality;
· Recognize student diversity and equity issues;
· Coordinate student recruitment and retention programs at the College;
· Lead college student events calendar;
· Lead coordination of student activities with other college programs;
· Ensure awareness of student code of conduct, discipline and grievance procedures;
· Give direction to intercollegiate sports and events, student clubs, student outreach, student leadership and on-campus activity;
· Focus energy and attention on community building initiatives and help individual students succeed academically;
· Serve as liaison for college with alumni, parents, neighbors, community leaders, and professional colleagues;
· Assist Deans of Academic Divisions with presenting candidates for graduation ceremonies;
· Other duties, as assigned.
