Online Symposium highlighting Qatar’s Shura Council elections

​The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) held an online symposium entitled "Legislative Authority: Qatar’s Shura Council as a model" with the participation of, Mr. Saad Al-Burshaid, Adjunct Faculty Member of Drama and Theater Directing at CCQ, Dr. Issa Al-Hurr, education consultant, Ms. Aisha Al-Kuwari, CEO of Dar Rosa Publishing, and Ms. Hassanat Al-Abdullah, certified trainer at Qatar’s Ministry of Interior. The symposium was moderated by Ms. Mona Nour, Lecturer at the Public Administration program at CCQ in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al- Naemi, CCQ President, and a number of faculty members and students of the Public Administration program.

The symposium reviewed the history of the Shura Council of Qatar and addressed several topics, including: the concept of legislative authority and the democratic candidate selection methods, as well as the importance of developing implementable election programs that prioritize the interests of the country and its people. The symposium also highlighted the empowerment of Qatari women and the importance of their participation in the upcoming Shura Council elections as candidates and voters being active partners in all areas of life.
