Community College, Police Institute sign MOU to promote academic and research cooperation

​The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) and the Police Institute signed, today, a memorandum of understanding (MoU), with the aim of promoting academic and research cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The MoU stresses the importance of exchanging expertise between higher education institutions and its role in serving the community and the country.

The MoU was signed by CCQ President Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Naemi, and Director of the Police Institute Colonel Ali Saud Al-Hanzab, in the presence of a number of senior officials from the two institutions.

The MoU aims to establish a strategic partnership and cooperation in various areas, including the exchange of experiences in the academic, research and student affairs fields, as well as training and community service. It also enables the Police Institute’s students to join CCQ to further pursue their higher education, according to CCQ’s policies. The two parties will also work together on organizing different student, cultural, sports and social programs and activities to cultivate students’ sense of social responsibility. This is in addition to offering training workshops for faculty members, trainers and students on the education and training systems that can benefit both institutions. Moreover, the MoU will help the signing parties to provide the labor market with more specialized cadres in different fields to contribute to achieving Qatar National Vision (QNV) and sustainable development.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Naemi expressed his pleasure over the signing of the MoU with the Police Institute and said: “Today’s MoU emphasizes our continuous commitment to academic excellence. We are confident that this partnership will strengthen our academic cooperation by exchanging our expertise and faculty members to improve the educational process, while promoting investment in the human capital to support the achievement of the human development pillar of QNV 2030.”

For his part, Colonel Ali Al-Hanzab highlighted the significance of signing the MoU with CCQ and the vital role the College plays in supporting education in the State of Qatar. Colonel Al-Hanzab indicated that the MoU reflects the Institute’s commitment to achieving QNV by preparing highly qualified officers who are responsible for maintaining order and building an advanced and sustainable society. He added the Police Institute grants associate degree in police science, as one of the higher education institutions in the state of Qatar.

The two parties agreed that the MoU would be a basis for further cooperation, with the possibility of holding regular meetings in order to support and enhance the various areas of common interest.
