Dr. Mohamed Al-Naemi named president of CCQ

The Board of Trustees of the Community College of Qatar (CCQ), chaired by Eng. Hamad Rashid Al-Mohannadi, has selected Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Naemi as the next CCQ president, succeeding Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Al-Naimi who was appointed as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in December 2017.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Naemi earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Case Western Reserve University in 1997.

Dr. Al-Naemi held the position of QU Associate Vice-president for Institutional Planning and Development from 2013 to 2016, and was a member of CCQ Board of Trustees from October 2014 to December 2017.

He began his career in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Qatar University in 1997. In 2004, he was appointed as Director of Evaluation Office, where he contributed to the development and implementation of a quality assurance framework, including quality enhancement systems for academic and administrative units, academic staff appraisal systems, student learning outcomes assessment, and QU key performance indicators. In 2012, Dr. Al-Naemi was appointed as Director of Institutional Effectiveness, where he oversaw quality assurance processes, developed and implemented a systematic review of non-academic services that result in continued improvement and demonstrate the effective accomplishment of QU’s mission, and developed a process for enhancing budgeting and planning cycle.

Dr. Al-Naemi participated in many committees at QU, such as Institutional Effectiveness Committee (Chairman), University Policy Committee (Chairman), College of Engineering Consultancy Committee (Member) and Budget Committee (Member).
