CCQ organizes meeting with students

The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) recently held a meeting between the administration represented by CCQ Vise-President Dr. Khalid Al Abdulqader and students. The event, which took place at the College’s Lusail campus, served as an avenue of communication with students to listen to their opinions, suggestions, and the challenges they face. The meeting also aimed at addressing students’ inquiries and saw a huge interaction and a fruitful dialogue.

Asserting the importance of the event, CCQ vise-president said: “The CCQ’s administration exerts all possible efforts to communicate with students through holding meetings to give them the chance to express themselves. By doing so, the College strives to enhance the academic experience of its students in order to help them improve their performance and achieve both their academic and career goals.”

He also announced the launch of the new email account: Talabi@ccq.edu.qa, which was initiated with the aim of receiving students’ emails and strengthening the communication with them to know their needs, requests, and suggestions.

On the latest academic developments, Dr. Al Abdulqader added: “The CCQ enjoys a privileged status among the local institutes of higher education in Qatar and it was recently selected by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to apply the hybrid learning system to its courses. Hybrid learning is a unique learning technique that provides a great deal of flexibility for our students by enabling them to attend their classes on specific days of the week at the College, and take the rest of their lectures online. We hope by introducing this new technology to facilitate the learning process to our working students and those who cannot physically come to the College regularly because they have other obligations.”

Seta Almarri, a student of the Associate of Public Administration program, stated: “I was pleased with this meeting the College held in order to listen to our opinions and recommendations to improve the academic curricula and the learning procedure as a whole. I was also informed by Dr. Al Abdulqader of the improvements that the CCQ recently witnessed over the past couple of months.”

For her part, Noor Almejlad, a student of the Associate of Business Administration program, stressed the importance of the event in enlightening the students on the recent developments. Particularly, the event helped her know about the new email account that was recently launched to easily communicate with students. However, she recommended that such events be organized at suitable timings for all students as to not conflict with their lectures.

Students chimed in with a variety of questions and recommendations, with some of them inquiring about the hybrid learning system and its application to the academic curricula. Meanwhile, others recommended installing printing machines at the College’s various campuses to help students print their academic material without having to miss their lectures in order to print in nearby libraries.
