Network Security students learn about efforts to combat cybercrime at the Public Prosecution

​The Information Technology Department of the Science and Technology Division at the Community College of Qatar (CCQ) organized a scientific field visit for 33 students from the Bachelor's program in Information Technology - Network Security. The visit took place at the Public Prosecution building under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghushami, Head of Information Technology department, and Dr. Shafii Abdulhamid, Assistant Professor in the Information Technology Department.

The visit aims to familiarize the students with the methods of combating cybercrime and ensuring network security (cybersecurity). Additionally, it aims to introduce them to the Electronic Crimes Law, issued in 2014, and the role of the Public Prosecution in its enforcement through its specialized units.

During the visit, the students listened to detailed explanations about the adopted network security systems and how they are implemented in the field of judicial work. The discussion also covered the most significant challenges facing efforts to combat cybercrime and enhance cybersecurity. Additionally, methods and means of collaboration between various state entities were discussed, as well as international cooperation between Qatar and friendly countries in law enforcement both domestically and internationally.

Dr. Al-Ghushami explained that such visits play a crucial role in bridging the gap between education and reality. They provide students with the opportunity to learn about the latest methods and technologies used in combating cybercrime, as well as how the law is employed to combat electronic crimes.

The students praised the value of this educational visit, affirming that it contributes to the development of their skills and understanding of the latest advancements in the field of network security and how they are applied in practical work.
