CCQ holds an open meeting for government school counselors

The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) hosted 68 academic counselors from government schools during the open meeting organized by the Counseling and Advising Department. The meeting aimed to familiarize the academic counselors with the available academic programs and specializations offered by the college in both Arabic and English tracks. It also covered the admission requirements, including the necessary documents, early registration dates for the upcoming semester, as well as providing them with information about the college's facilities and educational resources, such as laboratories, classrooms, and multi-purpose spaces.

The event was attended by Dr. Abdulla Al-Ali, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Ali Al-Buenain, Vice President for Student Affairs, along with the deans of academic sectors, heads of departments and divisions, and a delegation from the Department of Vocational and Educational Guidance at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

This meeting is part of the efforts exerted by the Student Affairs section at CCQ to provide support, guidance, and counseling to academic counselors in government schools. It aims to benefit high school students by assisting them in determining their educational path for the future. Additionally, it allows them to learn about domestic government scholarship programs and the needs of the job market.

The academic counselors were presented with informative presentations by the officials from the Student Affairs and Academic Affairs at the college. These presentations included an overview of the college's vision and academic mission. They also introduced the academic programs in the Division of Liberal Arts, Management Sciences, and Science and Technology. Additionally, the counselors were provided with an explanation of the student admission path to the college, including the application process for specific majors or academic programs, as well as the procedures for admission and registration in each of them.

On this occasion, Mr. Al-Buenain, emphasized that CCQ attaches great importance to building lasting partnerships with academic counselors in government schools. This belief stems from recognizing the vital role they play in supporting and guiding students in choosing majors that align with their interests and future aspirations. This, in turn, assists them in pursuing higher education that meets their needs and encourages them to select in-demand specializations in the job market.

In this context, he highlighted the importance of guiding students to register for the necessary exams required for admission to CCQ, especially the exams that assess English language proficiency. Conducting these exams early helps students ensure that they meet the required level and take the necessary steps if needed.
