The Al-Wakrah team won the final of the CCQ Ramadan Football Championship 2024, which was organized by the Activities and Alumni Relations Department, during which six teams competed, consisting of college employees and students from various academic disciplines and programs. The teams were named after the cities of Qatar, and are Al-Wakrah team, which won the championship, Al-Dafna won second place, Al-Zubarah team, Al-Rayyan team, Al-Wajbah team, and Al-Thakhira team.
Mr. Ali Al-Buenain, Vice President for Student Affairs, crowned the two winning teams, and he also crowned the student Hamad Shehab Al-Diri, the top scorer in the tournament, which lasted for five days and was met with great enthusiasm from the players, who gave their best in order to achieve the victory. As well as a lively interaction from the encouraging students, college staff and professors.
On this occasion, Khalifa Al-Kuwari, Activities and Alumni Relations Department Manager, expressed his happiness at the success of the Ramadan Football Championship in its new edition this year, which included the formation of sports teams of students and employees, whose goal was to play with passion and enthusiasm, and compete to win the title, amid a wonderful sports atmosphere that sparked enthusiasm for the players' high level of football and technical performance.
He added that the Activities and Alumni Relations Department is keen to provide more sports and cultural activities in the future, which will be with wide participation from college students, and aims to enhance communication between them, build their personalities, as well as stoke the spirit of fair competition and develop their skills in various fields.
