The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) has been awarded the ISO 45001:2018 Quality Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Management System. This certification covers the college's buildings in various locations and has been granted by GICG-UK, a leading organization in assessing compliance with international standards. The certificate is valid for three years and requires annual maintenance.
The objectives of the standard are considered a charter and proof of a global nature that all buildings of CCQ, both old and modern, adhere to occupational health and safety systems. They prioritize the safety of their employees, students, and structures. As a result, each building has obtained the ISO 45001:2018 Quality Certificate, reflecting positively on the college in terms of customer service and its members.
The Facilities and General Services Department that obtained the certificate was able to fulfill the requirements contained in International Standard 45001:2018, most notably: the existence of a policy that ensures the college’s adherence to the rules of occupational health and safety, the existence of a guideline (Occupational Health and Safety Guide), and the presence of various safety procedures. Providing evidence that all infrastructure and buildings meet safety requirements in terms of durability, materials and height, and the existence of safety procedures for the ISO system, which are (conducting a risk study, training procedures on safety rules, documentation procedures, procurement procedures, system objectives, conducting internal audit, conducting management review. conduct management review.)
The concerned administration, in cooperation with all parties concerned with the project, such as the departments of Human Resources, Procurement, Public Relations and Institutional Communication, and all workers in laboratories and places that require a high level of health and safety, were also keen to ensure that their services and procedures are subject to international safety procedures and to express their absolute commitment by keeping its buildings and infrastructure safe, establishing a system of procedures and documentation based on global safety principles, and finally transferring knowledge in this regard to the college’s members and students.
