Program Description​The mission of the Associate of Science in Engineering Technology program at the Community College of Qatar is to provide a degree program that prepares students for a technically oriented career that meets the needs of the State of Qatar or transfer to an undergraduate degree program. The program integrates communication skills and theoretical and applied competencies to prepare students for new technologies. Simultaneously, the program supports the general education components raises students' awareness of social needs and issues.

Program Objectives

The Engineering Technology Program aims to produce graduate student who are able to:

  1. Secure an entry-level position in electrical/mechanical engineering technology or related fields.
  2. Matriculate into a baccalaureate degree program.
  3. Communicate and collaborate successfully individually and within a team in both professional and social settings.
  4. Engage in professional development, applying principles of continuous learning to adapt to new engineering technologies and career challenges.
  5. Consider legal, ethical, and social implications related to the practice of electrical/mechanical engineering technology professions.
Learning Outcomes

By the time of graduation, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and solve basic electrical/mechanical engineering technology problems by applying basic principles of engineering and science.
  2. Produce electrical/mechanical engineering technology solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health and safety, as well as cultural, social, and environmental factors.
  3. Communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  4. Recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments. These must consider the impact of engineering solutions in environmental and societal contexts.
  5. Function effectively as a member of a technical team.
  6. Conduct appropriate experimentation, interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
  7. Acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.

1.      New Students:

Must follow CCQ's admission process outl​ined at the New Student webpage.

Current Students:

To be eligible for the program, a student must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Foundation Student: complete L4 foundation
  • Transfers from another CCQ program: a minimum GPA of 2.0
